Joe was a golfing buddy and introduced me to London Scottish.
Many have commented on Joe’s love of life. To me Joe was more than a bon vivant. He was an intelligent and kind man. He cared about people. He was inclusive and sought out to integrate new members. He was loyal to his friends. He supported me in times of difficulty for which I am so grateful. He could be stubborn but then so are many of us ! His many successes reflected his desire to improve and leave something for future generations to enjoy. He was liked by so many people because of what he was like as a man. So much more than the happy, teasing smiling man we remember so well. My memories of Joe are not just about the times we shared a drink…or two…but also of the quieter times, the quiet word, a journey shared, a memory recounted.
