Nana loved to travel and she loved to take her grandchildren with her, whether that was day trips to Manchester and York, or holidays in the caravan at Garstang and from there to Blackpool, Cleveleys, and Lytham St Annes. She gave us a sense of adventure and encouraged us to have fun even when it terrified her — she always had to cover her eyes when we went on rides and especially when we went up Blackpool Tower! Even as she became increasingly ill, she still loved to go for a drive with family and find a cafe with a good view. She was an incredibly generous, funny, kind woman who brought so much joy to my life.
