It is with deep shock and sadness that we share the passing of SFO's Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Littlefield.
Jeff was the heart and soul of SFO and he cared deeply for the entire airport community. His daily terminal walks to check on the well-being of staff, passengers, and the facility shaped how we operate as an organization, putting people and their safety and security first.
Jeff was a steadfast champion for our employees. He believed that a great airport begins with the people who make it extraordinary every day. He was a passionate advocate for employee engagement, equity, and belonging, and he supported the growth of our Employee Resource Groups as spaces where staff could connect, lead, and thrive. He also served as a trusted mentor to many, generously sharing his time, wisdom, and encouragement with colleagues across the organization and the transportation industry.
Jeff was the consummate professional who represented SFO at countless events, openings, parades, airline meetings and wherever aviation, culture and food were being celebrated. His unwavering dedication to operations behind the scenes ensured that the Airport ran smoothly; no problem was too small for Jeff’s care and attention. At his core, Jeff was an exceptional human whose humility and unwavering commitment to SFO leaves an indelible and meaningful mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed.
