Nilmini,
We are so deeply saddened by your passing. This has certainly come as a shock to us, and it is hard knowing you are no longer here with us.
Upon your passing, we have reflected on the many trips to Goulburn to stay at your house and the times you would stay at ours - we cherish those memories so much. An even fonder memory is when Parakrama first arrived in Australia. With nowhere to live and not many contacts, you were the first Sri Lankan that Parakrama saw in Australia. You were so generous as Parakrama slept on you and Vijith’s couch as he found his feet in this country - you even carried his suitcase by yourself up the stairs! Such was your strength.
You were one of the strongest characters we knew and that was so evident in the way you lived your life. You were always so hospitable and generous with your time, opening your home to others and always so caring. You were an incredible mother to Vijani, providing her with so much love and opportunity, raising her to be a strong and independent young woman.
We miss you very much, Nilmini. We pray that God would continue to protect Vijith and Vijani and remind them that they are loved and cared for. We pray that we might see you again one day.
With love,
Parakrama, Kumari, Ianthe & Brian
