I met Jason around 1992 in Telephone House Carr Lane. I was a 16 year old apprentice and Jason was a graduate. We both ended up in the NMC in about 94, Jason was one of my Seniors in there. Back then not many of us were clever enough to have degrees so everyone was a bit wary of this brainy guy! We worked together for a few years in Hull before Jason moved over to the Wakefield office and I followed him over soon after.
During the next 22 plus years Jason worked in a team I ran, he worked alongside me, advised me, came to me for help but most of all was always one of those who you knew would help you get the job done. The amount of projects, systems, networks that Jason worked on (often as the lead) is huge, he literally built most of the networks in KCOM in some way.
He was once described as one of the cleverest men I have ever met by one of my colleagues, which I agree with but it is the way he got that across to people that was his true magic. The way he explained and articulated to people, got people on board (especially his drawings!) was amazing and I honestly don't know anyone else who could match him for that.
His loss has affected us all here at KCOM, I am still struggling to come to terms with it. Because I have known him for so long a lot of people have come to me to say what a truly wonderful guy he was, and this page is there to share that, store it and make sure his friends and family can see that as it shouldn't be lost in a conversation, e-mail or message.
I haven't seen Jason's family for a long time, we live in different parts of the country and work / personal lives don't often cross over. But we talk about our families all the time so I do feel like I have literally grown up with them, so sending my thoughts and love to them,
RIP J, we all miss you terribly x
