James Hannay

December 4, 1977 - March 11, 2021

After so many years we truly are saddened that you really won’t make your class. But we’ll forgive you this once! You do realise that we will miss out on the cheeky banter, that bloody guitar, the tidy cupboard (despite having a class), but most of all, our friend. In all seriousness, we have lost an excellent teacher and picking a highlight would be impossible; Remember the bus you won in a raffle? What about the school of rugby kids you sent to Japan? The outdoor education you gave our kids; they kayaked they climbed, they got lost in the forest; you gave them opportunities they didn’t know existed. Who is going to call the dances? Who is going to be in charge of pods? Who will fix things when they break? The honest answer is nobody. No-one can replace you or even come close. Despite your moaning, we wouldn’t have had it any other way! Always in our hearts, always in our team. On behalf of all at North West Community Campus.

I can’t believe you have left us Mr Hannay. Like everyone else, I was heartbroken when I got told about your unexpected passing. I can still remember the banter between you and everyone else, especially Mr Cook during PE class. When I first came to Max High, I was excited and nervous, especially since most of the staff taught my 2 older brothers Robert and Ryan. I wish I got to thank for helping my little brother Aidan with his problems and if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be as close to each other as we are now. Fly high Mr Hannay - GBNF ❤
