After so many years we truly are saddened that you really won’t make your class. But we’ll forgive you this once! You do realise that we will miss out on the cheeky banter, that bloody guitar, the tidy cupboard (despite having a class), but most of all, our friend. In all seriousness, we have lost an excellent teacher and picking a highlight would be impossible; Remember the bus you won in a raffle? What about the school of rugby kids you sent to Japan? The outdoor education you gave our kids; they kayaked they climbed, they got lost in the forest; you gave them opportunities they didn’t know existed. Who is going to call the dances? Who is going to be in charge of pods? Who will fix things when they break? The honest answer is nobody. No-one can replace you or even come close. Despite your moaning, we wouldn’t have had it any other way! Always in our hearts, always in our team. On behalf of all at North West Community Campus.

Such an amazing teacher, an inspiration and a great role model to each and everyone who knew u. I will always remember the days when you'd make us clean the cupboards or be dancing with you on social dance days which a lot of us found mortifying at the time but they are memories i'll hold onto forever!! you done so much for myself and every other student, always putting us first. Thankyou for everything, you've made such an impression to every single person you've came into contact with over the years especially your pupils. you were an absolute credit to that school and a credit to every single one of us you've taught. you'll always be remembered. Rest in peace Mr Hannay, your memory will live on forever xx
