Jack Rowley

December 22, 1940 - March 16, 2020

He loved to play his trombone and has done so for more than 70 years. He actually started playing the trumpet, but made the switch when he was a little boy. Whenever you tried to make an appointment with Jack he always had to check his schedule because he always had a gig or band practice. Most of the week he would be out "working his chops" as he would say. And he tried to play his trombone whenever he had the chance. He even traveled the world to do so and went as far as China. He was very active in the big band world and has been active in multiple bands at the same time. Jack was also known for his humour (sometimes a tad crude) and always tried to make people laugh.

Dear Jack, your beautiful trombone sound was a priceless tribute to our band De Stalen Band and your real British humour always a guarantee for a good laugh. It was an honour for the band and for me personally to play with you. Allways getting sentimental over you, that will not go away. My condolences to Jacks family.
