I received the news of Br Issa’s sudden demise with shock and sadness. I am utterly devastated by this loss as I am sure all people who knew him are.
I have known Issa since the first day I joined the Bank in the old OP-2 Dept in September 2000. Since then a strong bond of friendship established between us that would grow stronger and stronger as the days and years went by. He was a true and sincere friend, mentor, coach, adviser, and brother.
His dedication and professionalism at work were second to none. His sincerity and honesty were beyond any doubt. His charm and friendliness were unparalleled. Whenever I had a difficult issue to resolve he would be the first person I would turn to for advice. He could always be relied upon to provide a frank and honest opinion, with the charm and politeness he will always be remembered for.
Since I retired from the Bank early this year, we never ceased to talk to each other. The last time we were in touch was last Sunday, only one day before he suddenly left this world. Little was I to know at the time that I would not talk to him or see him ever again. He was the best friend I could ever hope for. He was truly a great man, a man of character and I will miss him forever.
To his family, colleagues and friends, please accept my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy. I pray that Allah SWT forgive him, rest his soul in peace, grant him Jannatul Firdaus and give courage and patience to his bereaved wife, children, mother, colleagues and friends.
