Today, 06-05-1978, the D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr. A bba s Khan and the S.S.P. Abbotabad Mr, Abdul Samad Khan Inspected this Police Station.
After 'Presentation of Arms' to the D.I.G. Hazara Range the Station Clerks Office was Inspected and the Record Rooms and Stores Rooms were Checked.
The 'well' inthe Police Stationwhich was not being used since 1970 because of pollution caused by the fall of a dog in it was to be cleaned by the R.I. as per S.S.P./ Abbotabad instructions and confirmed by the D.I.G. Hazara.
The Patrolling and Beat Systems of the P.S. were discussed.
The Main P.S. has 3 Beats Duties being performed Round the Clock. Each attached Police Post (2 in number, P.P. Sikandarabad and PP. City) have 2 Beats each.
During discussion on the Crime Situation at about 0900 hours inthe S.H.O. Cantt.Office, the D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr. Abbas Khan DEMANDED Tea from A.S.P. H.Quarters Abbotabad In The PRESENCE of S.S.P. Abbotabad, S,H.O. Cantt. Sardar Hanif, and other Police Station Staff.
The DEMAND by D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr. Abbas Khan for such GRATIFICATION DURING the INSPECTION of a Police Station of the A.S.P. H.Quarters Abbotabad Jurisdiction in the Presence of S.S.P.Abbotabad, S.H.O.Cantt. etc, REFLECTS ON THE OFFICER of such SENIOR RANK.
The DEMAND of the D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr. Abbas Khan being ILLEGAL was NOT ACCEDED TO by the A.S.P. Headquarters Abbotabad. Chief Martial Law Administrator CLEAR CUT DIRECTIVE to the effect that WASTE of TIME etc. through Tea in Offices Be Stopped, may be recalled to mind.
The S.H.O. Cantt. however, immediately arranged for SUMPTIOUS MILK-Tea with Shami-Kababs, Roast Chickens, Seekh-Tikkas, Sandwiches, Chocklate Cream Cakes, Pastries, biscuits, etc.which was served to the relish of D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr. Abbas Khan.
On REFUSAL to join the Demand-Served Sumptuous Tea Party Arranged by a Sub-Inspector (Salary Rs. 162 pm) DURING Performance of OFFICIAL DUTIES, the D.I.G. Hazara Range, Mr. Abbas Khan asked the A.S.P. to vacate the S.H.O. Office, which the A.S.P. (Salary Rs.603 pm) obeyed.
It may be recalled that in his very First Meeting and Address to S.D.P.Os and S.H.Os, the New D.I.G. Hazara Range Mr.Abbas Khan CLEARLY Said that he Would Tolerate THEFT by POLICE SINCE EVERY ONE in PAKISTAN was A THIEF.
A Report onthe above incident is being sent to the SSP Abbotabad and DIG Range for necessary action.
