Harriet Rathbone

March 8, 1968 - August 23, 2021

It was with great sadness that we heard of Harriet Rathbone's tragic death in her home earlier this week, suddenly and unexpectedly. Harriet was an integral part of the Economic Crime Directorate, and was someone who brought people together with her kindness, humour and effervescent personality. Colleagues from across HSG, other parts of the Home Office, the NCA and NECC and UK Finance will all miss her immeasurably.

I was incredibly saddened to hear of Harriet's passing. I will always remember her warm, smiling face and bubbly nature when I first joined the Home Office for my first job out of university (a very intimidating experience!). After leaving the Home Office we stayed in touch and I always will remember being tempted out to Harriet's new office in Bank with hot chocolate and hilarious conversation. Harriet was genuinely a shining light, and I desperately hope she realised some of the joy she brought to other people around her. My deepest of respect to her friends and family.
