6/13 National Kitchen Klutzes of America Day is celebrated to those of us who have ever been a klutz in the kitchen. Hana had put something about not liking burnt food on a childhood poster of likes and dislikes. I was often a distracted parent while cooking and food often became cooked longer than it should. Hana and Khurram learned to be good cooks. One of the favorite memories Hana and Khurram had as children was spending a day making homemade vegetable samosas with me. I also made chicken curry for a delicious meal. I am grateful my kids accepted my shortcomings as a kitchen klutz and learned from my mistakes. Both Hana and Khurram would invite me over for home cooked meals. I love you Hana. I wish you were still here to share a meal and time together. I miss you more than you could ever understand.
