May 15 Founded by the United Nations (UN) in 1994, the International Day of Families is observed to honor the importance of families. Families—both traditional and non-traditional—are the foundation of society. Our most formative years are spent with our families and those people are likely the most important people in our lives, so they should be celebrated. Hana recognized the importance of family and would always say family over everything. Hana thanked her biological family and her friends who became family (Ahrar’s) for unconditional love. Hana knew family was important and did everything she could to support her family and friends. I love you Hana. I miss you and all the love you gave us. I wish you were still here with me.
