Day of Hope is held on the first Wednesday in April every year. It is a day of inspiration and motivation for everyone to wake up to the need to rescue children and adults who are passing through phases of abuse of different kinds, sicknesses, and traumatic experiences. Hana saw this need to advocate for children as a basketball and soccer coach. She quit working in the corporate world and went to work in the schools and completed her master’s degree as a social justice school counselor. Hana worked in the school for a few years and it broke her heart to see all the pain, discrimination, bias, and prejudice along with systemic issues. Hana advocated for school staff and community to make positive changes to make a better world for all. The world became too much even though she knew she could change the world. I love you Hana and our shared advocacy for social justice and making the world for others. I miss you and wish you were still here with me to continue the work.
