Playing lacrosse over the years has meant that I have met a vast array of people, none more wonderfully friendly and joyful as Gerry. His pride at coming down to watch Buckhurst Hill play was infectious, in many ways it felt like he was a dad to us all (sat there as his chair sank slowly into the mud!); his presence on the sideline made me put in that extra bit of effort whilst at the same time making it feel effortless. He would always stay and buy the team a beer, whatever the weather, having a cheeky half himself! His passion was and is unmatched, he truly was a great man and not many people deserve to be called that. My deepest condolences to Jem and the rest of the family.
