We are deeply saddened by the demise of OM Ganesh VU2TS - a veteran ham, active until the very end. He will be remembered for his active involvement in the growth of Bangalore Amateur Radio Club, the founder member of Repeater Society of Bangalore and probably a few more associations. Known for his active participation in motor rallies - we have heard many of his crazy experiences and innovative solutions during the rides. He has travelled far and wide in VU. He was a nature lover and a treasure trove of information and knowledge - probably he was knowledgeable about almost everything in, around and under the sun. He ran a newsletter on science topics that had a large subscriber base and a regular contributor to Quora - the platform where queries found answers on any topic. A known homebrewer during the initial days, he was probably one of the earliest to import a commercial rig. which probably led him to set up Digitronics in Shrungar Complex, MG Road Bangalore through which he facilitated many hams in India to get imported commercial equipment - radios and accessories. He was an authorized dealer for Yaesu for many years until he decided to retire and move to BR Hills - BR Hillsu as he was fond of calling. Being a Bachelor - he single handedly developed and managed the Estate in remote BR Hills. His wildlife experiences in the Estate and other nature experiences and his unique way of narrating those experiences still linger. He started and ran the Sunday Morning News Bulletin on the Nandi Repeater where he would readout topics on almost every field of life which was eagerly participated by many many hams. He also ran a Quiz on the Air on HF during the late 1980s. Later when he moved to BR Hills, he would send the writeups to VU2IBI who would conduct the News Bulletin.
Some of his known hobbies other than Ham Radio, were Photography, Nature conservation, Science & technology, bee keeping, Astronomy, etc
