Zoe Rosé Sánchez, 17, passed away on September 25, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas, after a courageous nearly nine-year battle with leukemia. Born on May 20, 2008, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and diagnosed with leukemia on October 5th, 2016, Zoe brought light and laughter into the lives of those around her from the very beginning.
Zoe was a senior in high school at the time of her passing and had already achieved so much. She earned a place on the principal’s honor roll and was known for her dedication both in and out of the classroom. A spirited cheerleader throughout elementary, middle, and high school, Zoe’s energy and enthusiasm were infectious. Her love for performance extended beyond the sidelines—at age ten, she joined choir and discovered a passion for music that stayed with her.
Her vibrant personality shone through in everything she did. Zoe had a bubbly spirit that could lift any room and a sassy sense of humor that made her unforgettable. Whether she was dancing and singing along to Selena’s “Como La Flor,” watching volleyball matches with excitement, or indulging in her favorite food—pizza—Zoe embraced life with joy and flair. She also enjoyed skiing and hockey, finding thrill and freedom in movement.
In moments when life felt overwhelming, Zoe found solace in creativity. She created a TikTok account under the name “zoe_obv,” using it as an outlet to express herself and connect with others while navigating the challenges of her illness.
Zoe is deeply loved by her family: her mother Elena Perez-Sánchez; her father Miguel Sánchez; and her younger sister Jacklyn Sánchez. Their bond was strong and filled with shared memories that will be cherished forever.
A funeral service to honor Zoe’s life was held on October 1, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Though Zoe’s time was far too short, her impact will be felt for years to come. Her strength, humor, and radiant presence touched everyone who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who carry her in their hearts
