Jola Ogunlusi was a cherished patriarch, a loving father and grandfather, who dedicated his life to serving his community and upholding principles of equity and justice.
As a journalist in the early 1970s and later as the National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), he demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment.
Fondly known as "Papa Jola," he was a kind and caring man who profoundly impacted countless lives. His passion for community development was evident in his role as President of the FESTAC Town Residents Association, where his efforts contributed to the creation of the Amuwo Odofin LCDA. He also served as Chairman of the Community Development Council, Amuwo Odofin chapter, leaving an indelible mark through his sincerity and commitment.
Beyond his public service, he was a captivating storyteller. Though he survived multiple accidents throughout his life, Mr. Ogunlusi passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the age of 91, following a brief illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and kindness.
