Extremely sharp with his observations and a keenness to know all problems with all its complexities, he was rooted in his convictions. The ability to listen to a differing view smilingly and yet put across your point in a civil manner is a lost art, now more than ever with Vijay gone so far. And it is not often that you encounter someone like Vijay whose convictions and beliefs never took him away from being humane and humble.
In a world full of shades of ethics, his stood out a quite stark contrast of what was black and white, always erring on the side of white. As is the destiny of such men, his need for perfection extended to the smallest of tasks.
The body was weakened but the mind was always sharp, till the very end. It’s indeed a credit to Kanchan, how he lived with supreme dignity even when faced with insurmountable odds of physical limitations.
Farewell my friend, with your passing the bell indeed does toll for all of us as the world is that much more poor.
Rest and eternal peace be with you, always, for you have paid your dues and some.
