My Christmas present from Chuen seng 2015
Wanted to present you a gift for Christmas (and it was difficult to come up with one esp when I busted my budget for Christmas:-P)
May I, instead, share with you a new piece of novice poem that I wrote for this Christmas as a gift.
It was inspired by Christmas carols, especially Silent Night, where I was trying to create be an interaction (or dialogue) between the carol and poem.
You are the first person that I am sharing the poem with (… trying to make this gift special:-P)
Last but not the least, have a great year ahead with family and friends.
Best regards,
Chuen Seng
A silent night (by Tan Chuen Seng)
Silently, silently, you came to this world.
Surrounded by darkness and bleakness of night.
Who were you seeking for, I ponder within.
If only I knew, I’ll bring him to you.
The shepherds and wise men came looking for you.
The lowly and mighty were those whom you seek?
Why this variation, we ponder within.
If only we knew, we’ll bring them to you.
Did the divine and love descend to this world?
Hidden from many by the blackness of night?
Were the stars in the night sky hinting from high?
Please grant our eyes sight to recognize light.
