I have known Subinay Da for more than two decades and from well before I joined the UN system. A chance encounter in a flight from New York to New Delhi when we happened to sit next to each other. Since that day, we remained in touch on and off. He was a Menor and elder brother to me, rejoiced my posting in Bangladesh and we met each time he came to Dhaka. Whenever I had a problem to deal with with no easy answers, he was my 'go to' person - always guiding me with my best interests in mind. Whenever I appeared in any Bangla Channel programmes, he would write to me with words of encouragement. I cannot just believe I am not going to have him again to help me navigate through life's challenges. Will miss you Subinay Da This picture is from his last visit to my residence in Dhaka earlier this year.
