It is with deep sadness that we inform you on the passing away of our beloved colleague and friend, Ruurd Reitsma, who left us on September 10th, aged 48, after a fight against cancer.
Ruurd began his journey with Gartner in 2011 as an Associate Director in Manufacturing, Energy & Utilities in our Benelux region. He made great impact from the start with his dedication to clients and colleagues, his drive to further mature Gartner’s strategy consulting capabilities and with his deep expertise in Oil & Gas. No surprise, he quickly progressed in the organization and made Managing Partner in 2016. Throughout his tenure, he has grown and managed some of the largest clients in EMEA, a testament to his exceptional consulting skills and commitment.
Ruurd also made a great impact on the team. Those who had the privilege of working with him experienced firsthand his warm calmness in periods of collective stress, his brilliance in developing new approaches, and his great humor and honesty in every interaction. He poured time, humor, and passion into everything he did and positively impacted the professional development of many of our associates.
Ruurd will be missed.
