Rev. Solomon Olanrewaju Oresanya was born August 23, 1937, and attended Olu Iwa college. He moved to Lagos late 50's and joined the Civil Service at entry level. He attended many courses and seminars and rose to the level of Director and Chief Internal Auditor before he retired in 1993 from the Ministry of Mines, Power and Steel. While working with the Federal Government, he traveled to every state of the federation. One of the memorable journeys was when he was in the plane that was hijacked and taken to Niger republic during the Abacha era but miraculously survived and came back safely. He founded CPGC in August 1986 as a prayer group (Christ progressive prayer group) and this later metamorphosed into a church (Christ progressive gospel church) by 1987 and he was General Overseer till 2019 when he retired to become the spiritual leader till he passed on. Rev. S.O. Oresanya is survived by his wife, children, and grand children.
