I knew Pierre for some years. He was a dedicated student of Sei-ki and came on many of my workshops and classes. In 2019 he came to all but one of my workshops around Europe and he made friends everywhere. In Heidelberg and Athens I found he was already staying with local students and already good friends, cycling around and thoroughly at home.
He was a warm, generous friend but he was also a dedicated, earnest student; the kind of student that is rare to find and a pleasure to work with. Sei-ki is difficult to learn, but he committed to it with a powerful humility and determination. I greatly respected this side of him. He talked to me sometimes about his search for Truth and understanding, a lifelong journey.
When I last saw him, at a Sei-ki evening in December 2020, I could see that he had developed wisdom and consideration in his touch. He was doing Sei-ki, and I mean REALLY doing it.
Pierre's decision to move to Spain was the realisation of a long-held dream. Many of us dream, but who of us act to realise them? In some ways Pierre was not worldly, but he certainly made things happen in the concrete world and brought many people together, like few people I have ever met.
Pierre - I respect your path, your dedication, your kindness, your will to become fully yourself. And I thank you for being in my life; for loving the work we shared; for your warmth; for yourself. Dear friend, go well, into the light.
