I will never forget Sunday lunch’s at Ashwick, West Pennard, Somerset, with all the family. Sarah and I (aged about 6 & 8 yrs) always had to wear our best Sunday dresses! We always played Monopoly after lunch and I always lost…..and if I remember correctly, Uncle Peter always won. Then after lunch, a dog walk, sometimes to the local school playground, where Sarah and I would play or sometimes we would walk up Glastonbury Tor. If we were lucky enough to go in Uncle Peter’s ‘posh’ car, he would always open the sun roof, which was an extra special treat for us kids! Although we did not see Uncle Peter a huge amount as we were growing up,, my memories are limited however, as we got older and saw a bit more of him, I realised what a kind, generous gentleman Uncle Peter was and that will stay in my heart forever. xx
