It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Sankata Kaoma, who left this world on February 7, 2026, in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Born on March 22, 1978, in Ndola, Zambia, Peter's journey through life has been a testament to his indomitable spirit and unwavering faith. He was the cherished son, devoted husband, adoring father, and dear brother.
His love for sports was unmistakable. Whether dribbling on the basketball court, sprinting on the soccer field, or cheering from the sidelines, Peter's enthusiasm was contagious. He had an equal passion for music and singing. Traveling and exploring new places brought Peter great pleasure, but nothing compared to the joy he found in family life.
He leaves behind his beloved mother Grace (Banda) Kaoma, his wife Chaquara Amour Moragne-Kaoma, his namesake son Peter Sankata Kaoma Jr., and his step-children children Darrius Moragne, Arnez Higgins, and Dartrell Brown. His siblings Martin (Pamela) Kaoma, Betty L. Kaoma, and Annie K. Kaoma continue to honor his legacy. Peter now joins his father Peter B. Kaoma and siblings Shirley Kanguya and Mwansa Kaoma, who preceded him in death.
