I first met Pete in the 80s with Al and Charlie at Lucas. Pete even at this stage was head and shoulders above others with his intellect, natural ability at most things and his common decency. You could not meet him without being impressed and happy to work with him. I remember the shared house at Wouldham etc and the community that buzzed around him.
