Dee Pati, I find it extremely hard to describe you in the past, for I have not really come to terms with the reality of your death. Since that woeful day, Tuesday 21/9/21, when you had your last breath, I had nursed the folorn hope that what I thought to be a prolonged nightmare would end, but all to no avail. Well, God Almighty knows best, since he brought you into this world without consulting us and, saw you through thick and thin without asking for our input, we have no right to question Him for taking what rightfully belongs to him.
Dee Pati, you were a brother in a million. You were also a bosom friend and a close confidant, whose wise council I will, forever, sorely miss. On Saturday before that Tuesday when you joined the Saints Triumphant, you requested to see me.
We had really nothing to talk about. You told me you were feeling fine. In my presence you were served breakfast which you ate with relish. Little did I know we were meeting for the last time in this terrestrial realm.
It has been so agonizing to think that you are no more. So, in practical terms I will no longer sit with you to take our meals together, drink together and share fond memories of our years of innocence and the great moments we shared together in our youthful days. Oh! Death can be such a kill joy!! So curel!!!
Dee Pati you have run a good race and I have received with equanimity the relay baton you handed to me. I promise not to disappoint. The bond of unity , eununciated by you, which binds the entire Ogbonna Family together will remain unshakable.
Dee Pati you are not dead and can never die. To live in the hearts of loved ones is not to die.
Your memory shall forever remain in our hearts. Thank God you are not passing through an uncharted course. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross in atonement for our sins, has since charted your path to His heavenly abode.
The Life you led while on earth made you a direct entry candidate for Heaven. So, continue to enjoy your blissful heavenly sleep till we meet to part no more.
