We received the very devastating news about the passing on of Papa with shock. What a loss of an officer & a gentleman; a complete family man; and a very amiable personality at home with his peers &, surprisingly, with his juniors.
Papa was an accomplished and an engaging person, who related with me as a junior brother, not as in-laws. He was my soulmate, whose visit to see his family in Abuja would be incomplete without us taking a tipple together while discussing the problems of our country. Papa, being the “old sailor” that he was, would always regal us with stories and anecdotes that would leave us in stitches. I will sorely miss him.
Our children, and the Fayomi families at home & abroad, join us in extending our heartfelt condolences to the entire Olumide family, the Laniyis, etc. May the Almighty give Papa’s lovely soul eternal rest, amen. We also pray for the Lord’s strength and peace to Mama & the family to bear this irreparable loss.
Papa, fare thee well. And may your seas be calm as you sail on, Old Sailor.
