Mildred O'Keeffe (nee Oliver) passed away in her sleep on June 9 2026, at the age of 95. Mildred was born on December 7, 1930, and spent a fondly and vividly recalled childhood in Cecil Street, Williamstown with her twin sister Frances (dec. 1995) and their parents Edith and James Oliver. She spent her teens and 20's enjoying days at the local beach, social events, picnics, dances and adventurous trips with the Christian Youth Club. Mildred married John O'Keeffe (dec. 1999) in 1955, and together they ran garages in South Melbourne and lived in Bay Street, Port Melbourne where they spent their early years with their three children in the close knit neighbourhood where everyone knew everyone. In 1972, the family relocated back to Mildred's beloved Williamstown where she spent the last 54 years of her life supported by her wonderful neighbours. She is survived by her children Terri, Kerryn and Sean and their partners Lance, David and Christina; her nine grandchildren Matthew, William, Alexandra, Georgia, Samuel, Kai, Sholeh, Jamie and Samara; and her many nieces and nephews. Her funeral mass will be held at St Mary's Church, Cecil Street, Williamstown at 1.00 pm Friday 26 June 2026, followed by a celebration of life at the Stags Head Hotel in Cecil Street at 2.30 pm.
