The late Mazola Wa Mwashighadi was born in 1964 in TaitaTaveta, Kenya. In 1997 he relocated to Kingston, and has since made Jamaica his home. He was a multi-talented artist, whose expressions varied in his use of found objects and a variety of materials. Paintings, sculptures, handmade bags, jewelry and functional art of interior and exterior decor, showcased his mastery of art and design. We will forever remember the warmth and love that Mazola exuded, as evidenced in his relationships with his family, children, friends and the larger art community. May he rest in eternal peace!
