Dear Barbara, it's never easy to land on the right words when something like this happens. What I will say is that I'm so sorry that you and your family have had to suffer such a loss at this point in your lives. In their expressions of sympathy Matthew's family and friends have extolled his virtues, abilities and personality wonderfully, highlighting the characteristics of a truly remarkable person. In order to balance the books I must mention his strange habit – to a European that is – of putting priceless red wine in the fridge! Yet, as Rob Snaddon said, friendships are about creating memories, and that's one, amongst many, that I'll never forget. Please accept our condolences and love. Ray & Jo.
