I've never met Matt in person, or even spoken to him directly, yet the news of his passing certainly sprung the waterworks. You don't really realise the impact someone has had on you until they're gone, and Matt was a huge part of my flight simulation hobby for over 8 years. It started out as watching a few videos on YT, to then tuning in to his Twitch streams & getting invested in projectFLY. To this day, I have never come across someone as naturally entertaining and damn right f***ing hilarious as this man. Some of my best memories growing up were watching his streams with my best mate, who was also into aviation, and sharing in the laughs of his content. Even now we both subconsciously use his mannerisms and coin his phrases, just by virtue of having watched his streams for so long. With his recent health struggles and brief return to streaming, you could tell something wasn't quite right - but deep down you always just presumed he'd get through it and everything would be okay again. To therefore hear the news break a couple of days ago, it still hasn't quite sunk in. I can't quite believe he's gone. I will miss Matt enormously, he can never be replaced. I hope whatever afterlife exists out there, he's sitting at the very top of it having an absolute blast. Rest in peace, you legend.
