Dear Barbara, memories of Malcolm’s genuine warmth and caring, combined with a twinkle in his eye as he always thought of something to make me smile, will remain forever with me and I will miss him. When I brought my sister to church during my times of caring for her, she was always blessed by his gentleness and the sincere kindness in his eyes. On more than one occasion we would bump into him at B&Q, which would involve some cheerful chat and an exchange of details about the jobs we were doing. My sister was always cheered up after a wee blether with him. He touched many lives in ways he would never imagine, he was just being his warm, kind self!.
Annie Loo sends her love and condolences to you Barbara...she remembers the hill walking that she loved so much, and as we chatted, she said, “You know Linda, I think Malcolm and Barbara were an example of what marriage should be.”. I can hear Malcolm making a cheeky joke in response to that.. but.. how good to know just one of the many good examples that will have influenced many folks, things that he would never have imagined....Out of sight maybe, but not out of mind, and more importantly, remaining in our hearts.
My prayers with love continue for you Barbara...much love, Linda x
