Lorna Valorie (Beckford) Donaldson was born on 1st of February 1957 in Westmoreland, Jamaica as the eldest daughter of the late Phyllis Gooden.
She was a smart, righteous and quiet mother, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. She worked as a nurse aid in Jamaica before she moved to the UK in 1988. After she relocating, she eventually married and had a daughter (born in 1993) before separating in 2007, which later led to divorce, where she became a patient yet principled single mother to her daughter.
Since the 2000s, she began to have a series of health issues, which later to progress until it took a turn for the worse from 2012. Despite having such health challenges, she continued to be righteous yet quiet. She never had a bad bone within her and was noted for being pleasant to be around people – to family & friends and those she encountered including the healthcare team at the hospitals she attended for her appointments and carers who came daily.
She may not speak up verbally but she still knows her principles and morals in her own way, like the saying “actions speak louder than words.”
Lorna was so full of love, despite being in pain for years, she will be sadly missed by those who loved and cared for her but she will never be forgotten.
She was survived by her only daughter, 10 of her siblings, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
May her soul rest in peace, free from years of pain and suffering.
