“Bhaalu” - I know it may sound offensive or rude to some of you but that’s what I used to call him fondly.
Kunal and I are pass-outs from same college but we never interacted with each other during college days. We came to know each other only after we started working in Pune. I was living with other batch mates (Abhishek Agarwal, Ritesh Bansal, Manoj Vijayvargia) in Pune when Kunal visited our house. That’s when I first met him and soon enough he back a regular visitor and a good friend of mine.
Kunal was always a happy person with a big smile on his face all the time. His heart was so pure that he could never hide his happiness. It used to cost him dearly when we used to play 3-Patti and Poker during his visits to our house. Whenever he used to get good hands, he would have such a big grin on his face that rest of us would fold. It was with his losings that all of us used to enjoy our Samosa, Kachori and Jalebis the next morning. But that never deterred him from coming again the next weekend for another round!
I never imagined in my life that I would be writing this memory. I guess it’s a reminder to all of us that life is short and unpredictable and it’s the memories that we make that will live with others forever. I will cherish my memories with Kunal for the rest of my life.
I will miss you Kunal…
