Dear Juan Pa,
How I wish, I had reached out to you before it was too late and told you how grateful I was to have had you as a friend. How I wish, I had shared with you what I was really going through and how I found light on the other side of the tunnel, so that maybe you could have found it too.
You were so kind to help me even when I didn't ask for it, and so generous to encourage me even when I put on a brave face and hid from everyone that I was struggling. How I wish I could have done the same for you.
I remember us spending time together during our study trip to Ireland with the rest of the ECD group. Walking the cliffs of Moher, getting drunk and getting philosophical about what we want in this life. You wanted to explore, and find love.
In the years that followed, you helped me to move in with my then boyfriend, and later helped me again to move out. Two of my happiest and saddest days, you were there. But I probably didn't even tell you how much it really meant for me.
Now I think of you, I see the day that you sat by the edge of the cliff, smiling, and I took a photo for you. Regrettably I can't find that photo anymore, so I took it upon myself to go through the ISS groups to find one that represents how I remembered you. And there you are, looking so peaceful, suited up for your friends at the graduation ceremony in 2017.

Much love,
