This was devastating news. I first met Joost when we were part of the 'jonge honden' batch in the IT department at Telfort in the Netherlands. This was in 1999, 23 years ago. We became fast friends, he convinced me to go into contracting, and helped me move to South Africa, and then later again to Sydney, Australia. I don't think I'd be where I am to day, if it weren't for his encouragement and support. We had so many amazing experiences together. I'll always remember his loud, deep laugh, his puppy eyes, and despite sometimes seeming gruff, the reality was that he was so soft inside, and with such a BIG, BIG, heart. I was so glad to have the chance to go to the Philippines for the wedding, meet Jehn and the "the little dwarves", who he became a loving father to. I will miss you, Joost. You were taken away from us way too soon, and before we had a chance to say goodbye. But also, I know we will meet again on another plane. Blijf sterk, and my heartfelt condolences to your family.
