Dear Jane, Sara, and extended family, my deepest condolences on John's sudden passing. I was shocked at the news that our Leaside tennis family has lost a most valued member. John was very competitive on the court, relishing how his slice shots confounded his opponents, and rubbing it in with his wry sense of humor and mischievous smile. He was helpful to all and a caring father to Sara. But his greatest gift to us was his deep commitment to the club, especially his work to promote and improve house league, for which he could always be counted on to run the matches at the end-of-summer House League Bash in pre-Covid times. Sharing the court with him just this past summer and seeing how much he enjoyed playing (and winning) will be treasured memories.
