My grandmother was one of the most self reliant individuals I have ever met in my life. My grandmother was a strong, intelligent, vibrant, supportive woman whose presence on this earth was a blessing for every one of us who have had the privilege of being around my grandmother. I remember my grandmother used to look after myself and my younger brother when were kids, every day my grandmother used to travel from the Bronx all the way to Manhattan to babysit my younger brother and I.
I also remember my grandmother making sure that my brother and I were on the right track and kept us out of trouble. My grandmother kept bad influences away from us and always shared her wealth of knowledge about life with myself and my siblings. My grandmother was like a second mother to me and my siblings, she was always around no matter what, through good times and bad times.
