Jean was an incredible influence in the 247 Glasgow Boys Brigade, both as an officer and as a friend. Jean loved hearing about what the boys and their families had been doing and was always there with an encouraging word and a smile. Jean kept up to date with all changes in the Brigade through the years. She really enjoyed promoting the teaching of Christian values to children. Jean was a vibrant, caring, Christian lady who loved life and her family. We want to give thanks for her life, and celebrate all that she means to us, her friendship, ministry and amazing interest and belief in others. We would love to hear your stories of Jean and see your photographs. Please do share them. Memories are precious.

My sisters and I spent many happy after-school hours and summer holidays in Jean's care at Compass Club in Drumchapel, Glasgow in the 70s and 80s. We were delighted to reconnect with her again just a year ago at our mother's funeral, and we made promises to get together this year for coffee to go through all of the photos she had of us from childhood during our time at Compass. Unfortunately, by the time we were ready, post mourning, for socialising, we were locked down due to the pandemic, and we never did make it to meet up with Jean. If any of her family read this, or the person handling her estate, could you please make contact with me so that we can perhaps discuss the preservation of so many of our and others childhood memories from Jean's photo collection? I would like to curate some kind of permanent display/installation of them either in a book or online. Thanks.

Jean was a memorable and wonderful Sunday School teacher when I was a child visiting Temple Anniesland in the summers. She was lively and thoughtful and her kindness always showed through in conversation - whether it was recalling details you’d told her before or genuinely engaging with you in the moment. My condolences to her family and friends at this time.
