May 21 National Learn to Swim Day is observed on the third Saturday of May, annually, honoring the importance of passing down the life-saving skill of swimming to young children. Hana was a strong advocate for people to learn how to swim. 50% of Americans do not know how to swim. Hana loved swimming and wanted everyone to find the same joy. I so loved that Hana shared my love of swimming whether in a lake or pool or the sea. I love you Hana. I miss my swim buddy. I wish you were still here with me swimming and finding the joy of it.
