Gustavo de Obaldía lived a remarkable life defined by service, friendship, wisdom, and leadership. An exemplary physician, devoted father and grandfather, intellectual, and distinguished Rotary leader, he served as President of the Rotary Club of David, District Governor, Director of Rotary International, and Vice President of Rotary International. He spoke Spanish, Portuguese, English, and French, but above all, he spoke the universal language of friendship. Together with his beloved wife, Xenia, he opened his home as a true Rotary house, welcoming Rotarians from David and around the world, strengthening bonds of fellowship and inspiring generations to serve. His legacy is not measured only by the positions he held, but by the lives he touched, the leaders he mentored, and the enduring example he leaves of “Service Above Self.”
