Gordon Armitage

January 18, 1938 - July 11, 2021

Husband to Teresa and Father to Helen, Lisa, Lynsey and Lesley. Gordon was an avid tennis player, lawn bowls enthusiast and rugby league fanatic. He also enjoyed playing golf, watching James Bond Movies and spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to eat (steak, chips and beans was a fav)! Having lived in England for most of his life, with a stint in Italy owning a fish and chip shop, he moved his family to Australia in 1990 where he spent the rest of his life. Gordon was a grandfather to Chance, Ace, Kenzie, Harvey, Caius and Arden and was adored by so many. He was fortunate to have had lifelong friendships with John & Sylvia, Vin, Trevor and Ray. He was a kind man with a great sense of humour and was a true English "gentleman". He will be so missed. Please add to this tribute with your thoughts and condolences and any stories or images you might have of Gordon over the years. A private family service will take place this Friday where these messages will be shared.

Sending all my love to Teresa, Helen, Lisa, Lynsey, Lesley and all grandchildren and partners of this beautiful family. Gordon is probably the best bloke ill ever know other than my own dad, as juniors bowlers way back in 1995-96 driving mostly Lynsey and myself and a few times Lisa and Lesley round the Gold Coast and sometimes Brisbane. Gordy and myself also played alot of mens pairs on Saturday afternoons for alot of years in which lead us both to a few club titles and other awards throughout pennants and premier league seasons. Gordy was very friendly and just an all round great gentleman. The door was always open and the footy was always on friday nights, would help him out where possible, when Gordy started to get sick he requested that I was to look after his ladies. My reply was its going to be really hard but ill do what I can as a brother/ good friend. Some great times had over last 25 or more years, rest in piece buddy,
