Mr. Gary Evan Payne died peacefully alongside close family on February 15th, 2017 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 64.
Gary is survived by his wife Kimberly Payne (Paul) of McKinney, TX & Roanoke, IN; Sons Kris and Kyle Payne and wife Angela Payne(Aldridge) and grandchildren Landon and Sydney Evan both of Dallas, TX; twin brother Larry Payne and wife Dee Powers Payne of Atlanta, GA and sister Pamela Nichols(Payne) and husband Robert Nichols of Shreveport, LA. He is preceded in death by his Mother Wilma Jean Thompson Payne of Claremore, and Gus Emmett Payne, Jr. of Claremore.
Gary was born on July 23th, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma. Gary began schooling at Sageeyah grade school, before moving to Tulsa Nimitz Middle School, and then graduating from Tulsa Memorial in 1970. Upon graduation from Tulsa Memorial, Gary attended the University of Arkansas with a focus on Business.
His children remember him as a driven, focused, hilarious, and loving father who encouraged them to pursue their goals and always be true to themselves. In 1988 Gary married Kimberly Anne Paul of Roanoke, IN and they remained best friends and the loves of one another’s lives for the past 29 years.
Gary highly excelled in Sales, Marketing, and Management in various arenas of the business world, and won countless awards taking him all over the world. He was an avid sports fan but his main passion was for his wife, his family & friends, and most recently his young grandchildren.
A celebration in lieu of service is scheduled for Saturday, February 25th at 6:00 PM at Eldorado Country Club in McKinney, TX. The event will be a celebration of life for Gary, and attendees are encouraged to bring their best stories to share with all!
