Denis taught me when I was an impressionable student at Cardiff in the early 1980s. We didn't stay in touch, but I remember many long and lively conversations that set me off on a social psychological pathway that I'm still on. Looking back now I was very young and he was not much older, and I really appreciate in retrospect the energy and enthusiasm that that he shared at such a formative time. I'm sure most teachers would want to be remembered that way.
