As David's next door neighbour in MAB for 12 years, I heard the laughter and felt the warmth that filled his office. Generations of students, undergraduates and researchers, left his room with a spring in their step and smiles on their faces. I too enjoyed the wisdom and moral support he shared with his colleagues. I'm deeply saddened by his untimely loss to us all, but especially to Linda and his family, and I trust their grief will be tempered in time by his profound legacy to the world of early childhood care and education.
