I miss David's cheery welcome every morning when I come through the door. He was always there to have a chat and a joke with. We had an ongoing joke about the rain ruining his 'hairstyle' and I once sent him a picture of one of those umbrella hats as a solution, which he liked. I think most of us had a personal connection with David, which says a lot about the sort of person he was, considering he was only part of the team for a short while. He was my lockdown hero, a solid, positive and reliable person, keeping everything and everyone going at the library throughout this strange period. I hope he knew how valued he was and how much we thought of him.
