David was a great ally to the staff and students at the Writing Symbols Lodge. He proudly sang the UofC Honour song at the Convocation in 2019. His voice and presence will be missed when we can celebrate once again with an Indigenous graduation. I had many good conversations with David and he was always asking about Cree pronunciations and he knew what wahkohtowin ᐊᐧᐦᑯᐦᑐᐃᐧᐣ meant - which can be best described as family bonds. His respect for nature and reconciliation will never be forgotten. I will miss you nistes ᓂᐢᑌᐢ (my brother).
