It's tough to know what to write, my huge condolences to Chris' family and close friends. My earliest memories of Chris were when we were going through our Leading Firefighter and Sub Officers exams. I have a funny memory of Chris turning up on the day with half a presentation in his bag and a desperate need to find a working photocopier so he could finish it! Over the years our paths crossed operationally and I considered him a good friend when we would bump into each other on jobs. As he went through the ranks, I turned to Chris as someone I trusted to give me advice regards my own promotion aspirations. Chris was always so generous with his time in this regard, I had a great deal of respect for him as an officer and as a mate. I can only imagine how tough this must be for his family, he will undoubtedly leave a huge hole in your lives, but I hope you can find some solace in knowing how well respected and liked he was among his peers. RIEP my friend.
